The Warm and Well Fund

The Warm and Well Fund has been launched by SBC to support voluntary, community and charity organisations to provide a warm space for local residents, families and friends who are struggling to heat their homes during the winter months.  They want to support a dignified approach for the allocation of this funding and are working in partnership with The Bridge and BAVS to ensure help reaches communities and individuals who require additional assistance.

A fund of £100,000 has been made available and each Locality will receive an allocation of this funding based on their population.   Organisations in Cheviot, Eildon, Teviot & Liddesdale and Tweeddale can apply for up to £2,000 towards the cost of opening up community venues or to extend existing opening hours.  Grant awards can be used for a variety of purposes, such as:

  • Cost of energy bills
  • Food provision
  • Light refreshments
  • Activities
  • Staff/volunteer costs

In Berwickshire funding is being distributed through BAVS.  The process for applying in Berwickshire is available on BAVS website

The Warm and Well Fund is part of a larger package of support from Scottish Borders Council, totalling £1.2m which is providing help to communities affected by the cost of living.
