We're delighted to share our Impact Report from Round 4 of the Scottish Borders Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
The fund distributes Scottish Government investment to community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises delivering adult mental health and wellbeing activity across the Scottish Borders.
Round 4 made £320,000 available, attracting 91 applications requesting over £1.3 million. Thanks to BCA's local connections and outreach, we successfully attracted the majority of applications from our target group: small, locally based organisations delivering preventative and early intervention work in their own communities.
Together, these projects highlight the vital role of grassroots activity in improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and building stronger, more connected communities across the Scottish Borders.
Yes, we do manage funds and often work in partnership to develop joint investment plans based on identified need. We currently distribute funds to third sector organisations on behalf of Scottish Government, Scottish Borders Council, the Federation of Village Halls and as part of our Climate Action call for Decarbonisation investment plan to support Community Buildings, this was a response to an identified need consultation with village halls.
Yes, our team can work with organisations to help identify funds for their projects. We can also review funding applications and recommend improvements when necessary. Additionally, our team can put you in contact with other organisations if you are looking for partners in a project.
The Community Development Lead will work with you to identify the best fund for your project based on the aims and objectives of your organisation.
Yes, we offer training to community groups and organisations to support skills development on grant writing, project evaluation and project sustainability.
Yes, we organise the Meet the Funders event every year, bringing together local and national funders and third sector organisations. We also work with partners to deliver social investment awareness events and promote other sources of income beyond just grants.
