Scottish Charities Bill – your views wanted
January 12, 2023
The Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Bill aims to update the law around charities.
Charities in Scotland are regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). OSCR was established under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (the 2005 Act). The 2005 Act sets out the powers that OSCR has to regulate charities and maintain a register of charities in Scotland. If passed, the Bill would update the Act.
The Scottish Parliament’s Social Justice and Social Security Committee is scrutinising the Bill and is seeking views on the proposals. Find out more.
