Volunteer Development Lead
A key part of our strategy focuses on recruiting volunteers of all ages and backgrounds and matching them to appropriate organisations and opportunities.
This exciting and pivotal role raises awareness of the volunteering opportunities in the Scottish Borders, drives the development of individual volunteer capacity, skills and capabilities, and engages with volunteer-involving organisations to ensure that there are opportunities for volunteers. The role also involves encouraging third party organisations, schools, local businesses and employers to promote the benefits of volunteering and encourage corporate volunteering.
Strong communication, networking, project management skills and good understanding of volunteers and volunteering are essential for success in this role.
Number of Hours: 28 per week
Salary: £27,846 (pro rata £22,277)
Accountability of post: The post holder will be line managed by and accountable to the BCA Community Development Team Manager.
Location of the post: Scottish Borders, Hybrid Working – Main office, home and in the community.

Community Development Lead
This is an exciting role in a fresh dynamic organisation that is looking to maximise the capability of the vital third sector across the Scottish Borders.
The Community Development Lead role includes direct support to local charities, voluntary organisations, and social enterprises by providing guidance on governance, capacity building, and partnership development. A key aspect of the role involves assisting groups with funding applications and pre-assessment of funds distributed by Borders Community Action. The Community Development Lead will also be responsible for promoting volunteering and work with partners to foster collaboration and help drive sustainable social impact.
Strong communication, networking, project management skills and good understanding of grant processes are essential for success in this role.
Number of Hours: 28 per week
Salary: £27,846 (pro rata £22,277)
Accountability of post: The post holder will be line managed by and accountable to the BCA Community Development Team Manager.
Location of the post: Scottish Borders, Hybrid Working – Main office, home and in the community.
It is expected that a significant proportion of this work will be dedicated to Eastern Borders.
